Croatian Workshop "e-Teacher – contemporary lectures with the use of technology“
On February 24th 2015 Croatian CARNet ISE (Inspiring Science Education) team held the “e-Teacher – contemporary lectures with the use of technology” workshop for the 20 enthusiastic and self-driven professors in both primary and secondary education from the city of Split and surrounding areas. The workshop itself lasted from 10am to 4pm and all of the participants actively participated and learned about instruction designs, strategies and methodologies of teaching and student evaluations and learning outcomes. Google drive tool was presented and the vast possibilities of its in class use. Bubbl.us tool for conceptual map creations was used and professors were very interested in it. A lot of professors expressed their issues with some other mental and conceptual map tools that are less user friendly and whose freeware option is much more limiting.
Windows Movie Maker was the most interesting too to the majority of the professors. Many of them use different video making programs as a learning tool, presentation of some of the learning materials as well as to create fieldtrip memories, summary of the lectures etc. Many professors were amazed with user friendliness, simplicity and intuitiveness of the Windows Movie Maker and actively participated and asked questions about different possibilities it offers.
This was only one workshop out of many more done as a part of the Inspiring Science Education project. We are certain that further educations will be as fruitful as this one was.
