Masterclasses in Argos high-schools
The Masterclasses will take place in Argos on January 29, from 10:00 to 15:00 (CET)
For the third consecutive year, fifty students from 15 high-schools of the Argos prefecture in Greece will be visiting the ATLAS experiment at CERN to learn more about the quest for a better understanding of the structure of matter. Genuinely interested in the latest developments in particle physics, the students will have the opportunity to communicate with a physicist and take a tour of the ATLAS control room. This virtual visit is part of a dedicated Masterclass organized by the IASA during which the students will learn how to analyze real LHC data from the ATLAS experiment with the use of the HYPATIA online and will discover the Z and Higgs bosons.
Learning outcomes: The students will be introduced to the world of high energy physics and the work being done at CERN. They will get the chance to learn about the new discoveries of physics in that field. In additioin, they will also work with the ISE portal, the HYPATIA demonstrator and the PISA questions.
