The Big Bang - Google Hangout

Wednesday, 27 May, 2015

The Big Bang is a Google Hangout (one in a series with Dr Pamela L. Gay) that took place on Wednesday, May 27, 18:00 (CET).

We can’t observe how the universe formed, but scientists are still willing to say that we know the universe was created through a Big Bang. In this scenario, students will learn the three main lines of evidence for the Big Bang: the universe is expanding, the Cosmic Microwave Radiation, and the mixture of chemical elements.

Highlighted Mission: The Planck Mission

Inquiry Activities: Olber’s Paradox, Balloon Demo (expanding wavelengths), expansion simulator.

A recording of the hangout is available here.

The learning scenario is available here.
